The Game Disc Repairer can remove light to medium scratches from the surface of any optical video game disc (so that's PS1, PS2, PS3, GameCube, Wii, Xbox and Xbox 360!). It's not designed for the PSP's UMD discs (because of their protective case) but we do have a special UMD Disc Cleaner available for those.
Fortunately, most scratches on CDs, DVDs and game discs merely damage the transparent plastic surface of the disc and not the reflective layer that actually contains the information. Our CD Scratch Repairer can fix this by sanding and polishing out the scratches, allowing the laser to see through to the metallic data layer without being defracted by scratches so the disc can be read again. It comes with pads and repair fluid, which will be good for repairing up to 50 discs, plus a bonus spare set which are good for 50 more.
The process is very simple. First you put the sand pads in with your damaged disc. Set it going for three minutes, and they sand down the surface of the disc by a tiny, tiny fraction. Next, pop in the repair pads with a couple of drops of fluid and wait three more minutes while your disc is cleaned and resurfaced. And that's it!
Most scratches can be fixed by going through this process once, but it can take two or more tries to deal with more serious damage. Bear in mind however that if you're not getting any noticeable improvement after four or five attempts, your disc is probably too far gone. Still, it's usually worth a try seeing as this entire kit costs less than just about any game, and most CDs and DVDs.
