My ZyDas software won’t start at all, and/or the dongle isn’t recognised.

First of all, follow this link and update your drivers. This is especially important if you`re using Vista. There’s also a document on installing WiFi MAX with Vista there, which may come in useful.

Whichever version of Windows you use, make sure you`re using the provided docking station, as the dongle sometimes has trouble fitting into an onboard USB port due to its size. If you`re using a USB hub or a port on the front of your machine, try connecting via a port on the back of the computer.

Is the dongle shown within device manager as an unknown device, with a yellow question mark, or is it shown as installed within the network adapters section? To access device manager please follow these steps:

1) Right click on the my computer icon.

2) Select properties.

3) Select hardware.

4) Select device manager.

If the dongle is shown as an unknown device within device manager, follow these steps:

1) Double-click the icon within device manager.

2) Select `driver`.

3) Select `update driver`. Confirm that you do not wish to connect to the internet to find a suitable driver if this message is shown.

4) Select `install from a list or specific location` (advanced).

5) Select the box `include this location in the search`.

6) Unselect the box `search removable media`.

7) Press `browse`.

8) Point windows to this location: C:\Program Files\ZyDAS Technology

Corporation\ZyDAS_802.11g_Utility\InsDrvTemp_USB

9) Press `OK`.

10) Press `next`.

This should enable the software to recognise the dongle.
