Some PSP firmware updates will require Action Replay PSP’s firmware to be updated; otherwise Action Replay PSP may stop working.

PSP firmware update 6.20, released in November 2009 requires an updated Action Replay PSP firmware.

If you have not yet installed the PSP 6.20 update Action Replay can be easily updated by downloading the latest Action Replay PSP firmware from www.pspar.com using the PSP’s web browser, it will then be able to install itself. If you have already installed PSP firmware update 6.20 and you now find that Action Replay PSP won’t load you will need to follow some slightly different steps.

Carefully follow the instructions below that apply to you:

IF YOU HAVE NOT YET INSTALLED PSP FIRMWARE UPDATE 6.20 AND YOUR PSP CAN ACCESS THE INTERNET WIRELESSLY:

  1. Boot Action Replay and then choose to exit to the PSP’s home screen
  2. Load the web browser and visit www.pspar.com
  3. Download the firmware update to PSP/COMMON
  4. Turn off your PSP fully
  5. Turn your console on and wait whilst Action Replay PSP installs the update and boots through to the codelist

You have now installed the latest Action Replay PSP firmware and so can safely install the PSP firmware upgrade 6.20

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED PSP FIRMWARE UPDATE 6.20 OR YOUR PSP CANNOT ACCESS THE INTERNET WIRELESSLY:

Follow these instructions if:
a) You have already installed the PSP firmware update 6.20 and found that your Action Replay PSP no longer boots (indicating you have an old firmware version)
b) Your PSP cannot access the internet wirelessly (meaning you can’t use the method listed above)

  1. Download the Action Replay PSP firmware update from the bottom of this screen
  2. Unzip the files to a temporary location
  3. Connect the Action Replay PSP memory card to your PC (using either a card reader or the PSP itself by loading Action Replay PSP, exiting to the PSP home screen and then entering USB mode)
  4. Overwrite the 3 files in the root of the memory card with those unzipped in step 2.
  5. Return the card to your PSP (or exit USB mode) and reboot your console
  6. Turn on your console and wait for Action Replay PSP to load

You have now installed the latest Action Replay PSP firmware and so can safely install the PSP firmware upgrade 6.20
